Privacy Policy

We collect basic information to provide and improve our services:

• Name and email address, when you sign in or contact us
• Usage data such as pages visited, time spent and features used
• Academic progress data you enter into our tools, such as marks and predicted grades
• Device and browser information, used to keep the site working across screen sizes

Marks you type into the grade calculator and grade predictor are processed in your browser. We do not require an account to use either tool, and we do not need your marks to be sent to us for them to work.

We use your data to:

• Provide study resources and keep your recently viewed subjects available
• Improve the site's structure and fix what people struggle to find
• Respond to questions, corrections and resource submissions
• Understand which subjects need material most, so we know what to add next

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers listed below, which process it on our behalf.

Your data is stored using Firebase, part of Google Cloud, with encryption in transit and at rest. We apply access controls so that administrative data is reachable only by signed-in administrators. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We rely on these third-party services, each of which may process some of your data:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database and hosting
• Google Analytics — aggregated, anonymised usage statistics
• Google AdSense — advertising, described in section 5 below
• YouTube (Google) — embedded video for some graded assignment walkthroughs
• Google Drive (Google) — where the study files themselves are hosted; opening one is a request to Google, not to us

This site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads, which is what keeps the resources free to access.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• We do not have access to, and do not control, the cookies set by these third-party advertisers, and we never pass them your name, email address or the marks you enter into our tools.

You can turn off personalised advertising at any time. These controls are provided by Google and the advertising industry, not by us:

• Google Ads Settings — opt out of personalised ads
• How Google uses cookies in advertising
• aboutads.info — opt out of third-party vendor cookies

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.

EduVerse is intended for students enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct or delete it
• Opt out of any email we send
• Ask for a copy of the data associated with your account

Email us and we will action the request. We do not charge for this, and we will not ask you to justify it.
