Java introduces object-oriented design and static typing after a Python-first start, which is most of the adjustment. It is assessed by writing code under exam conditions, so the syntax has to be in your fingers.
Where marks go: Coming from Python, the trap is treating types as paperwork — design around the type system rather than fighting it.

Attempt a paper under exam conditions before you look at any solution — timed, closed book, in one sitting. A paper you have read through is worth very little; a paper you have sat tells you exactly which topics you cannot do yet. Save at least one recent paper for the week of the exam.
Exact questions rarely repeat, but question patterns do — the same topics tend to be examined in the same style and at the same depth. Use past papers to learn the shape of the exam rather than to collect answers.
